March zodiac signs
March has two zodiac signs: Pisces and then Aries. From 1950 to 2010, the Sun entered Aries on March 20 in 39 years and March 21 in 22 years, in UTC.
March birthdays start in Pisces, read as gentle and imaginative, and end in Aries, read as direct and quick to begin. The change comes around the spring equinox in the north, the point every Western zodiac counts from. People born either side of it often hear that they don't match their sign, and the two signs really are that far apart in how they treat a decision: one waits for how it feels, and the other has already started.

How these dates are worked out
We take each position from astronomy-engine, the open-source astronomy library behind our birth charts, at noon UTC on the date, in the tropical zodiac our charts use. Changes of sign and New and Full Moons are searched to the minute in UTC, and eclipses are dated by the moment they peak. If you were born close to a change, your birth time and place decide. How we calculate the sky shows the checks.
