How to use a Moon calendar
People use a Moon calendar for planning a garden, a fishing trip, a night walk or a photograph, and many follow it for timing in everyday life. The tradition reads the new Moon as a good time to begin something and the full Moon as a time when things come to a head. The 2027 calendar takes over from January.
Full Moon names
The names come from the Old Farmer's Almanac, which gathered them from Native American, colonial and European traditions. The Harvest Moon is the full Moon nearest the September equinox, and the Hunter's Moon is the one after it. Full Moon names follow the calendar month in which each falls.
