Does he love me?

By Maren Tremblay, Fatesight editor · Last updated

Hold him in mind and draw one card. Each tarot card leans yes, no or maybe, and reversed cards pull that answer back a step. Love is rarely a plain yes or no, so read the words that come with your card too: they describe the kind of feeling it points to. The same question on the same day draws the same card.

What the cards count as love

Tarot does not sort feelings into love and not-love. Cups speak of feeling and closeness. Pentacles speak of care that shows up in practical things, which may be how he loves you if he is not one for saying it. Wands speak of desire and excitement, which can be love or can pass. Swords speak of thought and worry, so a Swords card may mean he thinks about you a lot and cannot say what he feels.

The cards people look for here

Reading a yes

A yes means the card leans toward real feeling. It does not tell you how ready he is to act on it. Look at whether what he does matches the card. Someone who loves you tends to make plans, remember details and show up when it is inconvenient. A card can open that question for you, and his actions are what answer it.

Reading a no or a maybe

A no may mean the feeling is not what you hoped, and it may mean the timing, the situation or his own state of mind is getting in the way. A maybe usually means that the feeling is real and mixed: he may care and be unsure, or he may be fond of you and not in love. Either answer is a good reason to have the conversation you have been circling.

If you keep asking

When you keep looking for signs, you already know something is unclear, and that matters whatever the answer is. You are allowed to want to be sure of someone. Often the most useful question is not whether he loves you but whether you feel loved. If the honest answer is no, a card that says yes will not change how the relationship feels on an ordinary day.

Does he love me? Questions people ask

Which tarot cards mean someone loves you?

The Two of Cups, the Lovers, the Ace of Cups and the Ten of Cups are the ones most often read that way. A card's meaning also depends on whether it is reversed and what you are asking.

How can I tell if he loves me without tarot?

Look at what he does over time: whether he makes room for you, remembers what you say, includes you in his plans and shows up when it is not convenient. Those are more reliable than any single conversation.

What does a reversed card mean for love?

It usually means the card's feeling is blocked, delayed or turned inward. Here a reversed yes becomes a maybe, and a reversed maybe becomes a no.

Does yes or no tarot work for love questions?

It works well for getting a clear first answer and for finding out what you hoped it would say. Many people find their reaction to the card tells them as much as the card does.
